Main Street Minute: Dental foundation sponsoring free checkups for kids

• About 400 uninsured children will get free dental checkups Friday in Mesa from the Arizona Dental Foundation. The organization estimates nearly 40 percent of the state’s third-graders have tooth decay that’s left untreated. Treatments are happening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health near Baseline and Recker roads.
• M Culinary Concepts wants to hire 75 servers and chefs to work during the Waste Management Phoenix Open from Feb. 1-7. There’s a job fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the company’s kitchen near Cave Creek Road and Loop 101.
• Shea Homes is ready to open a community in the East Valley. Ambition at Eastmark in Mesa will offer 99 home sites that will range between 1,700 and 2,800 square feet. The grand opening is Saturday.
