PHOENIX — Options for dropping off tax returns at the post office late on Tax Day are limited, but that’s better than nothing.
The U.S. Post Office near 48th and Van Buren streets in Phoenix will be open until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday to accommodate late tax filers.
In the past, many sites stayed open late on April 15, to accommodate late filers, but nowadays with so many people filing online, the Postal Service said it’s too expensive to keep up the extended hours.
The Post Office said there also will be workers stationed at the Phoenix Muni Stadium parking lot to accept tax returns.
