Mesa launches local event phone service

Mar 21, 2014, 11:21 AM | Updated: 11:21 am

PHOENIX — Finding upcoming events and nearby facilities in Mesa is now a lot easier for people who have a smart phone equipped with GPS, the city said.

The city’s new service, Mesa411, will give users more info than other websites.

“I think the biggest thing that’s a little bit of an addition is the upcoming events because they come straight off the city’s calendar, which Google would not necessarily have all those events available,” said Jessica Brodersen with the city.

The service also shows parking facilities and road closures.
