Car wash to be held for slain Glendale clerk

PHOENIX — A car wash to benefit a slain Glendale convenience store clerk will be held Sunday, a friend of the family said in an email.

An post on the Daniel Scott White Donation Fund Facebook page said the car wash is being held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on University and McClintock in Tempe.

White, 26, was gunned down by Andrew Rael, who was killed in a shootout with Arizona Department of Public Safety officers on the US 60 freeway.

Police said White confronted Rael before he was shot and killed.

White is survived by his wife and 3-year-old autistic son.

An donation account was established in White’s memory at Wells Fargo. The account number is 6309706304.
