PHOENIX — A Scottsdale middle school teacher has been arrested on numerous child pornography charges, police said.

Alvin Ray McClellan, a teacher at Mohave Middle School, was arrested following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Phoenix Police Department.

Authorities allege that McClellan was in possession of hundreds or pornographic images and videos of children as young as 1.

Police requested that McClellan be place on a high bond, as he worked with special needs children.

The Scottsdale Unified School District did not comment per district policy, but said it is cooperating with the investigation.
