Desert Vista wins regional Science Bowl

Mar 6, 2014, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

Last weekend was pretty exciting for students and teachers at Desert Vista High School.

While the girls basketball team was winning the state championship, four science students claimed first place in the 2014 regional Science Bowl in Glendale.

They had to beat out 27 other teams to do it.

Science teacher Birgit Musheno says the competition was pretty stiff. “They had to work hard to win this one,” said Musheno. “They were up against, in the finals, Basis Scottsdale and Brophy College Prep. They had to win every single game because they kind of came from behind at the end, so it was a pretty exciting day.”

Desert Visit earned the right to advance to the 2014 National Finals in Washington, D.C. in April.

We want to hear from you.
