Family makes funeral thanks to kind pilot

A family thought they were going to miss their father’s funeral when they watched their connecting flight pull away from the terminal in Minneapolis.
They had already endured a 90 minute delay getting out of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and arrived with minutes to spare to meet their connecting flight.
As a result, by the time the family got to the gate, they witnessed the final flight to Tennessee for the day backing away from the gate. They were informed by airport staff that it was too late and the control tower would not allow the plane to turn around.
Thinking they were not going to make it to the funeral, what happened next shocked the family.
As the plane leaving the terminal, the Delta airlines pilot saw the family in tears and banging on the glass, he decided to turn the plane around to pick up the family so they wouldn’t miss a chance to say a final goodbye.
