Main Street Minute: Harkins to open theater in Queen Creek

PHOENIX — Harkins Theaters will break ground on a new location in Queen Creek on Saturday.
According to the chain’s website, the Harkins Queen Creek 14 is expected to open its doors in the spring of 2015.
The new theater will be part of the Queen Creek Marketplace at the southwest corner of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth roads. It will have reclining seats, digital projectors and stadium-style seating, among other features.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Attendees will be treated to popcorn and will have the chance to win prizes. Anyone in a Harkins loyalty shirt will receive a coupon for a free movie.
