Drake tops Spotify’s most-played songs of 2015

When it comes to the most-streamed songs of 2015, Canadian rapper Drake reigned supreme.
Drake held spots in four of seven categories, according to data released by Spotify and published by Business Insider. In 2015, Drake had 1.8 billion streams and ranked No. 1 in Top 5 artists in the U.S., sharing company with The Weeknd, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran and Eminem.
Drake also took the top spot among male artists and his album, “If You’re Reading This It’s too Late,” ranked No. 1 while he took the No. 2 spot behind Alessia Cara’s, “Here,” for top viral tracks.
The biggest hit of the year was Major Lazer’s, “Lean On” featuring Danish pop Star Mo with 540 million streams, becoming the most-streamed song of all-time.
Adele was absence from any list since she refused to put her new album, “25,” on the streaming service.
