Gabrielle Giffords continues charge for gun-control reform

PHOENIX — Three years after taking a bullet to the head, former U.S. Rep Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona continues to recover and fight for gun control.

On the anniversary of the mass shooting at a Tucson grocery store that killed a half-dozen people and left 12 injured, Giffords wrote an opinion piece for the New York Times that ran Wednesday. In it she likened the push for gun-control reform to her ongoing rehabilitation.

“Our fight is a lot more like my rehab. Every day, we must wake up resolved and determined.” …

“We will fight for every inch, because that means saving lives. I’ve seen grit overcome paralysis. My resolution today is that Congress achieve the same.”
