Mesa girl escapes after would-be abductor crashes car

PHOENIX — A Mesa, Ariz. girl was able to escape from a man who allegedly abducted her after he crashed his car, police said.
Robert Curtis Milliron is suspected of abducting the 8-year-old girl Sunday because he was lonely and wanted companionship.
Police said Milliron crashed his vehicle a short time after abducting the girl. Officers set up a perimeter and arrested him about 45 minutes after the crash.
The girl was able to escape after the crash and ran to police.
Milliron was booked on charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated assault and hit and run.
