ASU’s Cronkite School voted fifth-best in nation

PHOENIX — The Valley is home to one of the best journalism schools in the nation.

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University tied for fifth in a vote by more than 1,000 members of the Radio Television Digital News Association. The school tied with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Arizona State was the top choice of a respondent who commented, “Their program is comprehensive, interactive and ever-evolving to keep up with a continually changing field. From cutting edge technologies, top-tier professors and opportunity for student innovation, the Cronkite school leads the nation in developing the communications professionals of the future.”

Overall, the top journalism school was the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri at Columbia, followed by the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, respectively.
