Goodyear wrestling coach arrested on sex charges

PHOENIX — A former Goodyear wrestling coach has been arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a female student, police said in a release.

Kyle Curtis DeBerry, 25, is the former wrestling coach at Desert Edge High School. He had been under investigation for months prior to his Wednesday arrest.

DeBerry was charged with luring a minor for sexual exploitation and assault. According to court documents, the two exchanged texts and photos. Other students had filed complaints to school officials against him.

DeBerry was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail.
