PHOENIX — An Arizona special needs teenager’s recumbent tricycle that was allegedly stolen over the weekend was returned to its rightful owner on Monday, police said.

The tricycle, which is used by a 16-year-old special needs child to get around the area, is a red Delta Sun EZ-3 that has an orange flag attached to the rear.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the bike was left in a Peoria park and someone anonymously called police to inform them of its return.

Peoria police said the thief was caught on camera nabbing the tricycle from a home near 83rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road about 6:30 p.m on Saturday.

Several websites said the tricycle costs at least $800 brand new.

Peoria police are still on the search for the suspect, who is described as a male with short hair. He was seen wearing a two-toned jacket, jeans and tennis shoes in the video.

Anyone who has information on the suspect is asked to contact the Peoria Police Department at 623-723-8311.

We want to hear from you.
