Auto shops raise money in ‘Brakes for Breasts’ campaign

Oct 4, 2013, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

PHOENIX — Over 40 auto repair shops across the country are joining forces to help fund breast cancer research as part of the Brakes for Breasts campaign.

“This is groundbreaking research and we are thrilled to be a part of the effort,” says Matt Allen, owner of Virginia Auto Service, one of the shops participating in the event.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all customers who schedule a brake service this month will get free brake pads. The customer will only need to pay for labor and any additional minor parts.

Ten percent of all proceeds will benefit the Cleveland Clinic, where a team of researchers have made discoveries that could result in a vaccine to prevent the deadly disease.

We want to hear from you.
