PHOENIX — President Barack Obama will speak at a Valley high school on Tuesday, the White House confirmed.
Obama is expected to speak on the nation’s housing situation at Desert Vista High School in Ahwatukee.
Obama was reportedly scheduled to speak at a Phoenix training center, but that appears to have been false.
The White House says Obama will lay out ideas for helping homeowners and others who want to own a home. Obama last week began a series of speeches outlining his ideas for how to help grow the middle class and boost the economy.
Obama has delivered campaign-style speeches in the past two weeks in Tennessee,
Florida and Missouri on investing in infrastructure, lowering the cost of
college loans and overhauling the tax code.
The Democratic president also has criticized Republicans for not doing enough
to help struggling families.
His speech revisits themes that he spoke about during his first presidential
visit to Arizona in February 2009.
Next Tuesday afternoon, the president will head to Burbank, Calif., to spread his economic message during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno. White House spokesman Jay Carney says the next day, on Wednesday, Obama has scheduled a visit with troops and their families at Camp Pendleton.
