Arizona gets a bad grade when it comes to being transparent and having government accountability.
That’s according to the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting and ABC15 and a new study. In fact, while ranking 22nd in the country and slightly above average, the Center for Public Integrity and Global Integrity awarded Arizona a D grade on their report card. Overall, Arizona got a score of 64.
Arizona received an F grade in lobbying oversight, ethics enforcement, civil service protections, access to information and pension management. The state did receive slightly higher rankings in internal auditing with a B+ grade and in judicial accountability with a C+ ranking, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
