PHOENIX — The Valley of the Sun is about to see its first truly chilly nights of the season: The forecast calls for lows in the Phoenix area to be in the 40s on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
“Tuesday night, it looks to be in the low to mid-40s in the central part of the city,” Chris Kuhlman with the National Weather Service said. “Maybe a degree cooler Wednesday night.”
Some outlying areas of the city could see lows dip into the 30s.
“We’ll maybe see 38, 39,” Kuhlman said.
The low temperatures are being caused by a small cold front moving across the state. There is a small chance for showers through Thursday.
Despite the chilly nights, the days promise to be beautiful. The weather service is calling for a high of 66 degrees with some gusts on Tuesday and a high of 67 degrees for Veterans Day on Wednesday.
As the week goes on, the mercury will begin to creep back up. By the weekend, highs will be close to 80 degrees with lows hovering about 50.
