PHOENIX — A Phoenix boy was in critical condition Tuesday after nearly drowning in a pool, the Phoenix Fire Department said in an email.
The 7-year-old boy was swimming with four other children between the ages of 5 and 11 and three adults were present.
The children took a break from swimming and went inside for lunch. At some point, the victim got back in the pool.
The victim is not a strong swimmer and was using “water wings” to help him stay afloat. He was found at the bottom of the pool without the wings.
