PHOENIX — Looking to take a family trip on a budget? No better place to visit than the Grand Canyon, which was recently ranked among the best national parks in the nation for families, according to Fodor’s Travel.

Located in northern Arizona’s Coconino County, the Grand Canyon is visited by families from all around the globe who come to look at one of the natural wonders in the state.

At a length of 277 miles, the Grand Canyon is no easy feat to be tackled. If you’re travelling with older, more adventurous children, consider taking a couple days to hike and camp within the canyon.

For children ages 5 to 13, they can participate in the Junior Rangers program, which provides kids with educational activities based on the national park which they are at.

Fodor’s recommends opting for the Desert View Drive along the southern end of the canyon if you’re looking to get the best views. The 25-mile stretch features six canyon viewpoints and four picnic areas, which is perfect for a dining experience you’ll never forget.

The Grand Canyon, which usually charges entrance fees starting at $15, will be letting guests in for no charge this Veteran’s Day.

If you can’t make it out before the end of the year, no worries! The National Park Service is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016, which means that there will be plenty of activities and events at the park throughout the year.

So grab the kids, load up the car and take a road trip that we’re sure you will never forget!

We want to hear from you.
