MESA, Ariz. — A couple is fine after a car crashed into their home early Thursday morning.
Mesa Police believe the driver they arrested stole the pickup truck from an auto shop near McKellips Road and Stapley Drive around 3 a.m.
Spokesman Steve Berry said police spotted the vehicle and the driver sped off into a nearby neighborhood.
“The truck didn’t know there was going to be a T intersection. It was dark,” said Berry. “He didn’t maneuver the corner and actually doive into a residential home here.”
Laura Simpson and her husband saw the man running through their garage after the accident.
“My husband tried to hold him and then he went out the back door and jumped over the fence,” Simpson said.
Nobody was hurt, but Simpson’s husband was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
