PHOENIX — If you’re feeling a bit groggy and feeling like you just didn’t get enough sleep, you probably didn’t recharge properly.
One of the reasons could be the bedroom temperature.
“In order to initiate sleep, your body needs to cool down,” said Lauri Leadly with Valley Sleep Center. “Cooling your room down will help. You want to make sure you have uninterrupted sleep you need you have uninterrupted sleep, if you get hot overnight, your brain will wake up because you’re hot.”
Leadly suggested keeping the room about five degrees cooler than the rest of the house overnight, taking a dip in the pool before bed or taking a warm bath then allowing the body to cool down before heading to bed.
