PHOENIX — Mayors from four Valley cities — Phoenix, Tempe, Gilbert, and Apache Junction — met at the East Valley Institute of Technology Friday to demonstrate their commitment to increasing educational opportunities for residents.
“Reality is, we do have some challenges in our education system, but EVIT and the kind of training they do for our youth and cutting edge programs makes them college and career ready from day one and it obviously makes our economy stronger,” said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
EVIT provides occupation-specific programs for high school students at 10 districts across the East Valley. It’s Arizona’s first joint technological education district.
