Scottsdale, Ariz. — Ice cream trucks are coming back to Scottsdale. They’ve been banned for about 40 years, but Scottsdale City Council voted Tuesday night to lift the ban.

The new law is being called “Leo’s Law,” in reference to Leo Blavin who spearheaded the charge to get ice cream trucks back to Scottsdale neighborhoods. He fought the ban because he wanted to run an ice cream truck business with his dad.

Ice cream trucks were outlawed in the 1970s because drug deals and other crimes were taking place inside the trucks.
