PHOENIX — Members of Organizing For Action, business leaders and church leaders came together at Indian Steele Park in Phoenix Monday to encourage the “Gang of Eight” Senators to continue working on comprehensive immigration reform.
“We’re hopeful that it’s going to happen sooner rather than later. We’ve been waiting for a very long time for the Senators to come together to address a very broken, very oppressive system,” said Reverend Liana Rowe of Shadow Rock United Church of Christ.
“If we work together, we can build a fair, effective and common sense immigration system that lives up to our heritage as a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants,” said organizers.
