The defense of Jodi Arias has cost taxpayers $1.4 million so far.
In an email, Maricopa County confirmed the total cost billed to the county by attorneys Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott to be $1,402,668.84 for 15,582 hours of work.
The attorneys charged hourly fees as low as $17.72 and as high as $250.
This $1.4 million does not include prosecution costs.
