Mesa Mayor Scott Smith gave an update on Tuesday about the Chicago Cubs’ stadium construction and the Oakland Athletics move to Hohokam Stadium.
Press, mostly from Chicago, received a tour through the partially completed facility a couple weeks ago.
“The thing that surprised everyone is that Wrigleyville West is much more than a baseball stadium,” said Smith.
Smith also said they have been keeping their promise to protect Riverview park and are actually taking it to a new level during all this construction.
The Mesa City Council approved the agreement with the Oakland A’s, who will be moving into Hohokam Stadium in 2015.
