Valley gardeners coming out to assess winter damage

PHOENIX — Another winter is behind us, which that means there’s a lot of work ahead.
That is, if Mother Nature got the best of your garden.
“A lot of people lost bougainvillea, hibiscus, lantana and ficus trees,” said Matthew Whitfill of Whitfill Nursery.
However, even a single green leaf could mean there’s hope.
“It would be the perfect time to fertilize the stuff you do see coming up,” said Whitfill.
If you find re-growth, trim back the dead vegetation to allow for healthy growth.
