PHOENIX — Arizona State University has cut the ribbon on its new student center in downtown Phoenix.
It’s called the Student Center at the Post Office and is located in the historic post office on Central Avenue and Fillmore Street.
“The student center on the downtown campus is really a big deal because we’re taking the old historic post office and we’re blending it in as a historic landmark into the ASU downtown campus,” said university President Michael Crow.
The student union has a convenience-store area, lounge, game room, a 70-inch television, a piano and more.
Crow said there’s more to come downtown for ASU. “We’ve got the rec center opening in August, we’ve got the law school starting construction in eleven months. There’s a lot going on down here.”
