PHOENIX — The Valley’s roller-coaster January weather continues.
Just days after dealing with bone-chilling temperatures in the 20s and 30s, then record highs in the 80s, comes a very wet weekend.
Valerie Meyers with the National Weather Service said the rain should start Friday night and by Monday metro Phoenix is expected to receive about an inch of rain.
That number could double in the higher terrain areas east and northeast of Phoenix.
“We’ve tapped into a pretty good moisture source that will continue to bring moisture into the state,” Meyers said.
It’s a good start on rainfall in 2013. The official gauge at Sky Harbor Valley recorded four inches of rainfall for all of last year.
