Arizona ranks 5th in non-farm job growth

In November 2012, Arizona ranked fifth in the nation for non-farm job growth, according to the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
Arizona added 59,600 jobs, a 2.44 percent increase from 2011 to 2012.
Overall, North Dakota took first with a 4.52 percent increase in non-farm job growth.
Phoenix ranked second for non-farm job growth for metropolitan areas with over 1,000,000 non-farm jobs. Phoenix added 50,700 jobs, a 2.9 percent increase between 2011 and 2012.
Houston ranked the highest with Denver, Seattle and San Francisco taking the three, four and five spots, respectively.
