The possible merger between American Airlines and US Airways appears poised to take another step forward with flight attendants ready to approve a plan.
According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, American Airlines flight attendants feel the merger is necessary to save their bankrupt company.
“A merger is the best thing for the company, the unions and the passengers,” Association of Professional Flight Attendants president Laura Glading said late Tuesday. “It has to happen.”
The Allied Pilots Association, which works with American Airlines pilots, approved a merger plan on Saturday. US Air pilots are expected to consider their own plan soon.
There is no timetable for the possible merger.
