Aggressive bees attacked three people at a home near Honeycutt Road and Potter in Maricopa Wednesday afternoon.
Two of the people were sent to the hospital.
Brad Pitassi, spokesman for Maricopa Fire Department said one of the patients was a Direct TV worker, servicing the home.
“Initially, it was the Direct TV representative who started to get stung by the bees,” Pitassi said. “The two residents heard the screaming, left the house and tried to help him as best they could, but the swarm kind of diverted and started to sting them.”
Pitassi said one of the men was stung at least 60 times.
He recommends avoiding swarms of bees if possible or calling for help if they’re unavoidable.
