Gang member arrested for pointing gun during drug deal

A Chandler gang members was arrested Friday after allegedly pointing a gun at and otherwise threatening a female victim, the Chandler Police Department said in a release.

Josiah Weisman, a known member of the South Side Chandler gang, allegedly became involved in a verbal confrontation with the female victim while purchasing marijuana at a local apartment complex with his mother.

During the confrontation, Weisman allegedly waved a semi-automatic handgun around and briefly pointed it at the victim, at which point the victim walked away.

Weisman left the area and was later arrested at his residence. He claimed the gun he used was a BB gun and the he discarded it, though it was not recovered.

Weisman was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and gang-related charges.
