Phoenix Police have arrested 20 people and are searching for 15 others in connection with a south Phoenix drug ring, that has been accused of committing at least one murder.
Maricopa County prosecutors said Leshon Jones, 23, and Antwon Glass, 21 are accused in a March murder stemming from a drug deal gone bad.
According to investigators, Authorities allege
the two south Phoenix street gang members killed the man and stole the drugs.
The investigation started last spring with the murder of Ricky Hernandez. Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos said Hernandez’s death was the result of a gang turf war and that Jones and Glass made contact with the 27-year-old
victim under the guise of wanting to buy marijuana from him.
Hernandez’s sister Elda said she’s pleased with the arrests but nothing will bring back her brother, who she said was not involved with gangs.
“I don’t feel closure yet. … I still cry,” she said.
