SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Scottsdale police said a suspect in the sexual assaults of two women in their homes has surrendered.
According to police, Ryan Joseph Festa’s attorney saw an artist’s rendering of the suspect that law enforcement had distributed to the media Thursday.
He contacted Festa and convinced him to turn himself in.
Festa, 22, was charged with two counts each of sexual assault, kidnapping and second-degree burglary.
Police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark said a man entered an apartment the night of Oct.
18 through an unlocked patio door. He then sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman. A
29-year-old woman was assaulted in an apartment at a complex a few blocks away
late Wednesday by a man who also came in through an unlocked patio door.
