MESA, Ariz. — They have the paint. Now, they’re looking for volunteers to cover the walls at the Nala Manor house.
The 5,500-square-foot home in Mesa will provide stability for 10 girls currently in the state system.
Volunteer coordinator Dionne Hutchins said, “This home will be a sanctuary so they can grow and develop and have healthy lives.”
Hutchins said Dunn Edwards has donated all the paint to cover the walls of five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The house also has a recreation center and basketball court surrounded by citrus groves.
Volunteers will be painting Oct. 25-27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you’d like to help, call (602) 568-1551.
Hutchins said there are about 13,000 youth in the care of the state while group homes only have the capacity to house 8,000.
