Final debate results shouldn’t change polls much

PHOENIX — Valley pollster Mike O’Neil said he doesn’t expect a dramatic change in the polls because the impact of Monday night’s final presidential debate was far less significant than the first debate in Denver.
“The final debate stopped the president’s slide after Denver with his final two debate performances. He may get a small bump, maybe one point, after last night. Not a great deal but in an election this close that could be significant.
“If there’s an area where the president has an advantage it’s foreign policy and he took full advantage of that in the debate. Obama immunized himself from a Romney attack by repeatedly mentioning Israel.”
Both campaigns are focused on undecided voters. O’Neil said voters have no more excuses to be on the fence.
“There won’t be any more information that will come out before the election. Think about it and decide.”
