A 5-year-old Phoenix boy was killed Monday after a television set fell on him, the Phoenix Police Department said.
Isaiah Hernandez was killed in his home, located near 35th Ave. and McDowell. He had been alone in his room for a few hours when his family found him.
“When they went to check on him to get him for lunch, they found him pinned under a television set that looks like it had fallen off of the stand in the bedroom,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.
The family attempted to resuscitate Hernandez using CPR.
Crump said the television was an older, heavier model. The family said it was on a nightstand that was smaller than the 165-pound television.
It is unclear how long Hernandez was trapped under the television set.
Donations can be made to Hernandez’s funeral fund at any Wells Fargo. The Isaiah Hernandez Memorial account number is 1690938699.
