Weekend events for Oct. 12-14

PHOENIX — Looking for something to do this weekend in the Valley? The list below offers a few options.

Bill Engvall

Popular comedian Bill Engvall is at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts on Friday night. Engvall is one of the original members of the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” that took the nation by storm. Tickets range between $49 and $79.

Tempe Oktoberfest

Tempe Oktoberfest runs all weekend at Tempe Beach Park. Dozens of different beers, food, live German music, wines, rides and games make for one of the best festivals in the Valley. Admission is free.

Greater Phoenix Greek Festival

The big Phoenix Greek Festival runs all weekend at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Maryland Avenue at 19th Street. Experience all of your favorite Greek foods, music and dancing as well as rides, a village market and activities for the kids. Tickets are $3 for ages 13 and older. Ages 12 and under get in free.

Downtown Pub Crawl

The annual Downtown Pub Crawl is Saturday night in Phoenix at area bars, clubs, dive bars and lounges. Take advantage of drink specials and party until you crawl. The check-in site is at Adams Street and First Avenue between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Trolleys and cabs are available. Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 the day of the event, which starts at 9 p.m.

Arizona State Fair

The Arizona State Fair is under way at the State Fairgrounds. Get on a ride, attend a concert and munch on some of the tastiest and unique foods you’ll ever see. Tickets are $10. People over the age of 55 and between the ages of 5 and 13 pay $5. Admission is free for kids younger than 5.

Arnez J
Comedian Arnez J is at Stand Up Live! on Friday night. He’s appeared on BET’s “ComicView” and Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam.” Tickets are $22 with a two-drink minimum.

Arizona’s Ultimate Women’s Expo
The Arizona Ultimate Women’s Expo is Saturday and Sunday at the Phoenix Convention Center. Guest speakers include Wynonna Judd and Meghan McCain. Relax and rejuvenate at the largest women’s expo in the country. Tickets are $10 but can be purchased cheaper online.
