A group of hackers is claiming that they gained entry to the servers at both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, the schools said Thursday.
The group, known as Team GhostShell, said it compromised the websites and servers of 53 universities around the world.
UA said three departmental servers were accessed, but no sensitive data was accessed or compromised and that the vulnerabilities have been remedied.
ASU said hackers accessed two of its servers, but no sensitive information was compromised.
A large outage, which affected ASU last week, was not related to the hack.
