Zipps Sports Bar at Hayden Road and Via de Ventura is used to big crowds on Sunday during the NFL season.
Thursday night, the Scottsdale eatery expects an even bigger crowd for the Arizona Cardinals-St. Louis Rams game, manager Ryan McNeely said.
“We’ve got an extra bartender, extra servers, extra managers,” McNeely said. “It will probably be a full house until the end of the game.”
On most Thursday nights, Zipps starts to fill up around 7 p.m., according to McNeely.
“I’d say probably at about five o’clock we’ll be full tonight,” McNeely said. “We’ll probably start filling up 45 minutes before the game.”
Tonight’s game, carried by the NFL Network and KPHO-TV, is expected to earn monster ratings. So far this season, Cardinals games have been the most-watched TV program of any kind every week.
Kickoff is at 5:20 p.m.
