GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Glendale Fire Department will be hosting a 21-hour training program for youths Oct. 19-21.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program will show students the fundamentals needed to survive in a disaster. They will receive hands-on-training in disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations and search and rescue.
The class on Oct. 19 will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All classes will be at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center located on Glendale Avenue near North El Mirage Road.
Students 12 to 18 from Glendale or the surrounding area are eligible to participate.
The class will take up to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
