PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns expected about 300 people Wednesday to try out for a chance to sing the national anthem before a home game.
“We’re looking for a variety of performers, not just singers,” said Kip Helt, team vice president of game entertainment.
“If you’ve come to Suns game before, you’ve heard trumpet players, saxophone players, guitarists,” he said. “We’re looking to fill 44 games worth of anthem performers today.”
The Suns will host three preseason games. The NBA regular season is 82 games long, half of them home games.
Auditions at US Airways Center will run until 7 p.m.
