PHOENIX — Hundreds of women will take over the poker tables this weekend during the seventh Arizona State Ladies’ Poker Championship at Talking Stick Resort.
Contestant Barbara Olsen said playing strictly against women is an entirely different game because men and women have different tells and poker faces.
“[Men] are definitely more physical at the table,” she said. “They mess with the chips more at the table. Women will sit calmly and wait on what you’re going to do.”
Olsen also said women are less likely to bluff another player out of the pot.
The prize pool for the tournament is expected to reach $80,000.
