PHOENIX — At least five Democratic Senate candidates, including Arizona’s Richard Carmona, decided to skip the Democratic National Convention.
It’s not a statement regarding anything other than priorities, according to Carmona’s communications director, Andy Barr.
“To win with Arizona voters, to attract Democrats, independents and Republicians … frankly, going to the DNC takes away time for us being able to campaign here in Arizona,” he said.
Carmona faces Republican Jeff Flake in November.
