Record number of Latinos attend DNC

PHOENIX — Latinos are breaking records at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.
“In order to move forward, Latinos are going to be a big part in moving this country forward,” said Frank Camacho with the Arizona Democratic Party.
“The numbers don’t lie, we are going to be the largest minority in this country. We are going to have a very strong voice in which direction this government goes in the future and the Democratic Party is well aware of that.”
An internal email sent to Latino Democrats at the convention indicates over 13 percent of delegates are Latinos, compared with 5 percent at the Republican National Convention in Tampa last week.
The number of delegates at the convention rose from 658 in 2008 to 759 in 2012.
