The newest generation of high-definition televisions is ready for the public market, but they’re not coming cheap.
According to the New York post, the new 4K TV will run consumers about $15,000 or more per set.
The television supposedly boasts an image that’s four times sharper than the current HD signal, but there’s one big problem: the difference is only discernible on screens larger than 60 inches.
Another problem is that no program nor film has been produced for 4K and one likely won’t be produced soon. Studios said the investment in new equipment is frighteningly expensive.
