Gilbert searching for alleged sexual assault suspect

The Gilbert Police Department is attempting to locate a man who allegedly broke into a residence on Sunday night and attempted to sexually assault the inhabitant.
The adult woman victim awoke about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday after the suspect forced his way into the home in the 2000 block of E. San Tan Court through a door. A physical assault ensued, during which the victim was able to fight off the suspect, which caused the suspect to flee the area.
Not much is known about the suspect, other than he is average to below-average height and weight.
