A Paradise Valley teacher has been arrested on charges of having sex with a 17-year-old student, whose mother allegedly approved of the relationship, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
Police were contacted on August 24th by officials at Paradise Valley High School that 26-year-old teacher Jordan Doneskey was allegedly having sex with the student.
The sexual relationship had began in April, when the student met Doneskey, who was her teacher. The student was a willing participant in the relationship and told police the couple had sex four times. Doneskey admitted to knowing the student was under 18.
The girl’s mother, Caren Jablonsky, told police she was aware of the sexual relationship and approved of it. She never attempted to report the incidents to police, despite Doneskey allegedly engaging in sexual acts with her minor daughter.
“The girl’s mother, who is a 49-year-old woman, knew that this activity was taking place and she actually allowed it to happen,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson. “On at least one or more occasions, they actually had sexual relationships in the residence of the girl and her mother.”
Doneskey was hired at PVHS in 2009 and has no disciplinary action on his record. In a written statement, the school said it does not believe any other students were involved in a sexual relationship with Doneskey.
Doneskey was charged with five counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Jablonsky was charged with one count of child abuse and two counts of failure to report.
The victim, because she is a minor, was not identified.
